House Committee Advances $95 Billion Reconciliation Bill

The House Budget Committee approved a $95 billion budget framework, advancing legislation that would fund priorities including defense, agriculture, and election-related initiatives through the budget reconciliation process. While the bill outlines spending levels, specific funding allocations will be determined in future legislation and must still pass both the House and Senate.
Henrietta Treyz, Co-Founder of Veda Partners, said much of the proposed defense funding is likely to support U.S. operations in the Middle East. "Most of it is on munitions and operational costs for having our military deployed in the Gulf region," Treyz said. She also noted that the bill's $12 billion in farm aid is intended to help farmers facing pressure from both tariffs and the conflict with Iran.
